Overview

Wundowie Primary School is a level 4 school in the Midlands Education District, which is located 65 kilometres from the Perth CBD, 45 kilometres from significant shopping and recreational facilities at Midland and 35 kilometres from the major rural town of Northam. The area is experiencing an upward population trend as increasing numbers of people are attracted to a rural lifestyle while having ready access to Perth and the metropolitan area. Enrolments currently stand at 125 students from Kindergarten to Year 7.

The school is very attractive and is set in a tree enhanced environment with ample lawn and play areas. The town oval adjoins the school and is utilised regularly. There is an abundance of classroom facilities which allows for a number of purpose planned areas including maths/science, music, computing and art.

The staff at Wundowie Primary School are committed to providing a safe, supportive and nurturing learning environment for all students. This is facilitated by learning programs being developed on an individual, small group, classroom and whole school basis. There is a strong focus on students ensuring that their behaviours, attitudes and actions are considerate of all members of the school community. The school promotes student academic, sporting and social development under the banner of 'smart, proud and strong'.

Wundowie Primary School has a very active P&C committee who raise significant funds to support the educational programs on offer. The P&C also work closely with a variety of support organisations that run a number of community based education programs. Parent and community involvement is encouraged through a very effective school council who work collaboratively to oversee school governance.
